While Bright Crystal does look like Crystal Noir of 2004 in terms of bottle design, these two women’s perfumes came from the noses of two very different persons. Nevertheless, both got their trademark for being bold, powerful, elegant, and luxurious.
Crystal Noir, for one, features a deep plum bottle topped off with a large plastic lid. It has a rare essence with a dark, mysterious appeal, reproduced by “headspace” technology. Like Crystal Noir, Bright Crystal came from the house of Versace, only it was released much later, in 2006. It is still available in the market, courtesy of EuroItalia. It was believed to have been inspired by Donatella Versace’s favorite floral fragrances. It graces the market in a pink-colored bottle that looks much like that of Crystal Noir.

Crystal Noir features the piquant spice of ginger and pepper mixed with the sweet and spicy yet minty scent of green cardamom. It deepens into the sweet floral scent of fresh gardenia and peony and blends with the heady floral-animalistic scent of orange blossoms, toned down by the creamy and slightly exotic aroma of coconuts. It could have been a simple sweet, pleasant fragrance if not for the bold scent of amber, musk, and sandalwood at the base giving off a powerful statement.
Bright Crystal, on the other hand, highlights a sweet floral scent reminiscent of spring and summer blooms. Opening with a mix of ice, yuzu, citrus, and pomegranate, it gives off a tart fragrance mixed with green powdery fragrance. It blends into the pleasant sweet scent of lotus flowers, peony, and magnolia, with mild support of balsamic and slightly smoky aroma of amber mixed with the woody scent of musk and mahogany.
While both perfumes are fantastic options as women’s perfumes, these two are seasonal opposites. Crystal Noir features a versatile floral scent with some spice that keeps it from being too stuffy or bold, whereas Bright Crystal has a light fruity-floral scent that gives it an almost universal appeal.

While it can be accepted as a perfume worn on colder days, it’s right at home on warmer days as a perfume that smells like spring and summer in a bottle.
Versace Crystal Noir vs Bright Crystal: Which is Best For You?
Crystal Noir is a pretty good choice for a women’s perfume. It’s sweet and floral but not overwhelmingly so. It also offers solid performance in projection and longevity, though there isn’t much to say about its sillage. It’s not weak, but it isn’t the intense type, making it a good option if you’re going for a simple and clean scent.
Bright Crystal, on the other hand, is an equally fantastic option. It’s light and airy with a “universal” appeal that doesn’t quite work well for heavy partygoers. It has a relatively simple sweet floral scent that smells good but is not strong enough to be cloying. It’s a wonderful choice for just about any daytime occasion – attractive, clean, and refreshing that lasts long enough. Overall, it’s a great summer day perfume.
One who isn’t particularly fond of sweet scents, will go for Crystal Noir anytime, but Bright Crystal is really not a wrong choice, especially on specific occasions. It’s the longevity and impression of the Crystal Noir that somehow matter.
